Join us for an evening of Food and Music.

Hatfield & Lafleche is a Halifax-based music duo known for their unique blend of vocals, guitar, bass, and baritone sax, creating a distinctive sound that merges electric folk, roots, country, and blues. 

Their diverse musical backgrounds shape their original material and inventive arrangements. They perform original material and also unique arrangements of a curated selection of covers by John Prine, Tom Waits, Mississippi John Hurt, Jean Leloup, amongst others. Their repertoire includes songs in English and French, and also instrumentals.

Dawn Hatfield is a musician, composer, and educator with a rich array of musical experiences. She has earned both an East Coast Music Award (1998) and a Juno Award (1999) as part of the Johnny Favourite Swing Orchestra. She has produced commissioned works that have been performed by the Upstream Ensemble, Symphony Nova Scotia, and The Quasar Saxophone Quartet. She has shared the stage with many legendary performers including The Temptations, Lionel Ritchie, Natalie Cole, Chris Calloway, and Leslie Gore. In addition to her work with Lafleche, Dawn also presently performs with The Back Alley Big Band, Shirley Jackson & her Good Rockin' Daddys, and Upstream.

JF Lafleche is a unique guitarist originally from Ottawa, who relocated to Halifax over a decade ago and quickly earned recognition for his exceptional fingerstyle technique. Known for his refined approach to guitar, JF's playing is frequently sought after by local musicians, showcasing his versatility across various genres. In addition to Hatfield & Lafleche, JF is the guitarist for Shirley Jackson and her Good Rockin' Daddys, where he displays his love of blues and swing guitar. As part of the duo Hatfield & Lafleche, JF's guitar stylings are prominently featured in many of their instrumentals, contributing to the duo's unique blend of folk, roots, country, and blues.
